Founder
Carrington Beckford
Founder, Overdrive Elite Performance Systems

Carrington Beckford’s foundation in athletics began at 6 years old in Jamaica, where he was introduced to track and field and developed an early appreciation for sprinting, rhythm, coordination, competition, and movement. That experience shaped the way he views long-term athlete development, both physically and neurologically. As the founder of Overdrive Elite Performance Systems and a former collegiate football player, Carrington built his coaching system around neuroplasticity, locomotion, biomechanics, sprint mechanics, strength, power, elasticity, and long-term athletic education. His approach is rooted in the belief that great athletes are not developed through strength alone, but through movement quality, coordination, repeated exposure, and intelligent coaching. Since founding Overdrive in 2017, Carrington has trained youth, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes across multiple sports, helping athletes earn scholarships, roster opportunities, and higher levels of performance. Beyond training athletes, he is passionate about developing coaches and teaching the why behind speed, movement, strength, and long-term athletic growth.
Carrington has built a reputation for developing elite athletes across a wide range of sports, from youth standouts to collegiate champions and professional competitors.
His roster includes Cornelius Johnson, 2023 National Champion at the University of Michigan and NFL Draft pick; Kevin Pierre Louis, NFL linebacker; and Zaire Franklin, Pro Bowl linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts.
Carrington has also worked with notable athletes such as DJ Burns, NC State’s 2024 March Madness standout; Travis Jones, a third-round NFL Draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens; Addie Pattillo, UNC National Champion and All American; and Tim Wilson, former wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles.
His experience spans football, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, and other sports, working with athletes including Caley Waters, USA Lacrosse national team goalie; Toby Okani, Memphis Grizzlies; Montana Semmel, New York Yankees draft pick; Jackson Mitchell, Mr. Connecticut, former UConn linebacker, and Carolina Panthers player; Kenny Dyson of the Carolina Panthers; Kenny Soares, Michigan State linebacker; Ethan Long of Notre Dame; Drew Pyne, former Notre Dame quarterback; and Omar Fortt, former UConn linebacker and CFL player with the BC Lions.
At the high school level, Carrington has trained numerous All-Americans across boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, football, soccer, and other sports. Over the past three years, he has worked with standout athletes including Clare Greisen, New Canaan High School Class of 2027 and Northwestern commit; Chris Iuliano, Rye High School Class of 2027 and Notre Dame men’s lacrosse commit; Addie Pattillo, Wilton High School Class of 2024 and University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse athlete; and Josie Goldman, Wilton High School Class of 2024 and University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse athlete.
With a proven track record of developing athletes at every level, Carrington is recognized for helping athletes improve speed, power, movement efficiency, and overall performance across multiple sports.
